Financial Impacts of the Affordable Care Act

As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we consider it our stewardship to provide timely financial education to our members and the community. As such, Goldenwest Credit Union is hosting a free Health Care Reform Seminar on May 24th. Business owners and managers are invited to attend this seminar, as well as human resource directors and others who are decision makers for health care plans and needs.

Volunteerism is the Credit Union Way

It was a pleasure meeting personally with many of our members at the Goldenwest Annual Meeting last month. During the meeting, Chairman Bill Hart announced that Stoney Wayment and Tony Reynolds were re-elected to the Board of Directors. Supporting Students & Financial Education

It’s that time of year when I’m preparing to run the Annual Goldenwest 5K For Schools. Every spring I join with thousands of other parents, teachers and volunteers to raise money for local schools by participating in the 5K. It’s a thrill to see people of all ages in our community come together to support public education. Not to mention, this annual event is great motivator for me to stay in-shape.

A Solid Performance in 2012

The numbers are in and Goldenwest Credit Union is reporting its’ strongest year since 2008. In 2012 our net income nearly doubled, with an increase from $6.2 million to $12 million. Return on assets grew from 0.81% to 1.51%. And, our capital ratio increased from 11.31% to 12.3% of assets in reserve.
