Frequently-Asked Questions : Transferring Funds

Transferring funds to an account at another financial institution

If you would like to transfer funds from your account to an account at another financial institution, you can use the “Transfers” feature in our Bill Pay product to complete that task. You will first need to set up the account. Once you have set up the account, then you can transfer funds to it.

To set up the account:

  1. Click on the “Bill Pay” tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Wait a few second for the bill pay screen to finish loading.
  3. When the bill pay screen has loaded, move your mouse over the blue “Transfers” menu option in the bill pay area of the window. A menu will appear.

Tip: The blue “Transfers” menu option is different than the green or white “Transfers” tab at the top of the window. When you move your mouse over the blue “Transfers” menu, a menu will appear.
  4. Click on the “Add Transfer Account” link in the menu.
  5. Answer the “Challenge Response” question. This is a question you answered when you registered for bill pay.
  6. Enter a nickname for the account in the “Account Nickname” field. This will be the name that will appear when you select it to add funds to it.
  7. Choose the account type in the “Account Type” field. The account type is the type of account you are transferring to.
  8. Enter the routing number of the account in the “Routing Number” field. If you do not know the routing number for the account you are transferring to, you’ll need to contact the other financial institution and ask them what it is. Many financial institutions post their routing number on their website.
  9. Enter the account number of the account in the “Account Number” field.
  10. Enter the account number again in the “Confirm Account Number” field. This ensures that you enter the account number correctly.
