The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) runs October 15 through December 7. This is your opportunity to review your Medicare coverage and make changes that take effect January 1.
Even if you are happy with your current plan, it is helpful to take another look. Costs, prescription drug coverage, and provider networks can change each year, so reviewing your plan can help you determine whether it still meets your needs.
During AEP, depending on your current coverage, you can:
- Change your Medicare Advantage or Medicare Part D prescription drug plan.
- Switch from Original Medicare to Medicare Advantage.
- Switch from Medicare Advantage to Original Medicare.
