Goldenwest Announces New Senior Vice Presidents

OGDEN, UT: July 26, 2018 – Goldenwest Credit Union is reshaping its organizational chart with the addition of four senior vice presidents to help manage the company’s transformation into a comprehensive financial services provider for its 133,000+ members.

“As Goldenwest continues to evolve into one of the most recognized and all-inclusive financial service providers in Utah, we are building an internal leadership team to uphold the Credit Union’s mission of innovative member service,” said Kerry Wahlen, president and CEO. “This new senior vice president group will be at the forefront of implementing strategic plans for improving member experience, enhancing delivery channels, systems development, product growth, and helping employees reach their potential.”

In a recent company-wide meeting, Wahlen announced the new organizational structure with existing vice presidents Mike DeGroot, Louise Hilliard, Laurie Stuart, and Diana Windley being named as senior vice presidents.

Mike DeGrootMike DeGroot ventured into the information technology sector more than 22 years ago, and has led the Goldenwest Information Technology team since 2007. Mike is responsible for implementing the technological vision in support of Goldenwest’s strategic growth and security initiatives. Under Mike’s direction, the IT Department organizes, plans, implements, and controls all electronic functions for Goldenwest. His responsibilities include the data management centers, digital security, eCommerce, production systems, application and web development, data analysis, telecommunication, and network functionality. While playing football as a student-athlete at Weber State University, Mike earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.

Louise HilliardLouise Hilliard began her professional career 37 years ago after earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Santa Clara University. In 2012, Louise was recruited by Goldenwest to lend her expertise to the Operations Department, and soon thereafter launched the Credit Union’s Payment Services Department. Louise is responsible for strategic planning as it relates to Visa card growth, online and mobile payments, merchant services, business development data analytics, fraud, and member onboarding. Louise has been invited to share her expertise with other professionals in the payments industry as a guest presenter at the Symitar Education Conference and as a JPS Advisory Board Member for Jack Henry & Associates.

Laurie StuartLaurie Stuart joined the Goldenwest team more than three decades ago as a teller, and subsequently learned the Credit Union business from the ground-up. During her Goldenwest career, she has been actively involved in almost every aspect and initiative of the Credit Union. Most recently, Laurie has been responsible for strategic planning, development, and implementation of all consumer loan products and lending systems. In addition, she provides oversight for collections, physical security, business continuity plan, underwriting, and the Credit Union’s involvement with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Laurie earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management in 2004, and attained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 2010. She is a graduate of the CUNA Management School.

Diana WindleyDiana Windley entered the financial services marketing arena 20 years ago prior to the industry-transforming innovations of online and mobile banking. For the past 14 years, she has led the Goldenwest Marketing team with responsibilities for strategic planning and implementation of advertising, communications, public relations, media, and community outreach campaigns for the credit union’s multiple brands and products. Diana enjoys active community involvement, serving as a member of the Second Judicial District Nominating Commission and on the Boards for McKay-Dee Hospital, Weber Human Services Foundation, Davis Education Foundation, and Morgan Education Foundation. Diana graduated from Brigham Young University in 1994 with Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications.
