Protecting Employees and Members During COVID-19

March 25, 2020

The health and safety of our employees, members, and all of our families is of utmost importance to us. We are monitoring, evaluating, and adapting Credit Union operations on a daily basis to serve our members to the best of our abilities during the COVID-19 outbreak. Goldenwest has joined with many other Utah-based businesses and organizations in taking actions to slow the spread of COVID-19. On March 23rd, branches began operating with drive-up window service only. Branches without drive-up windows have temporarily closed.

We are mindful that some members may need unique services, such as access to a safe deposit box, that constitute a visit inside the branch lobby. We are happy to accommodate those types of requests by appointment.

Fortunately, we live in a technologically-advanced age that provides online and mobile branch access 24/7. If you haven’t already become familiar with our online and mobile banking branches, now is an excellent time to do so. If you have questions about logging-in to online banking for the first time, or setting up your account on the mobile app, our Contact Center Representatives are available to assist you at 801-621-4550, option 3. Contact Center hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Please be extra cautious in avoiding scams during this time. Many fraudsters are preying on peoples’ fears surrounding the Coronavirus. Goldenwest will never contact you and request sensitive information. If you receive a suspicious message from Goldenwest, forward the email to memberservice@gwcu.org or call our Contact Center.

In adherence to current government recommendations to cease holding events with more than 10 people, the Annual Meeting scheduled for April 14 is canceled. An abbreviated Annual Meeting will be held at the Goldenwest Corporate Office in Ogden on April 21. The meeting will be limited in scope and substance, and is expected to last no longer than five minutes. Goldenwest members are not encouraged to attend.

The election for open seats on the Board of Directors scheduled for April 3-6 will continue with online voting only. Due to temporary branch lobby closures, in-branch voting will not be available.

Thanks for your ongoing commitment and loyalty to our Credit Union family. For the most recent updates on branch access, and the many ways you can connect with our financial service representatives from the comfort and safety of your home, visit the COVID-19 page on our website.
