Frequently-Asked Questions : Viewing Account Information

Adding an account from another financial institution

It is possible to import an account from another financial institution (another credit union or bank) into your USUCU Online Branch account. This will allow you to see transactions on your other account from within the USUCU Online Branch. You can also use this data in your budgeting tools.

Importing an account from another financial institution does not make it possible to transfer money from or to that account. It simply means that you can view the transaction detail in that account. If you need to transfer money to that account, you can use our bill pay transfer feature to accomplish that task.

To add an account from another institution, follow these steps:

  1. On the Account Summary page, click on the “Options” menu located in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  2. From the menu that appears, select “Add Accounts from another Institution”.
  3. Read through the instructions and click the “Next” button.
  4. Choose the institution to import from in the list of institutions.

Tip: If the institution is not listed, you cannot import the account. However, there is another way to manually import the account’s transaction information by exporting a file from your account at that institution and importing the file into your USUCU Online Branch page.
  5. Click the “Next” button.
  6. Enter the credentials for the account. These credentials are usually the same credentials you use to sign into the account at the third-party financial institution.

Tip: Some financial institutions require you to sign up for “OFX/QFX support” and may even require a separate username and password to use that feature. If you have any questions about what username or password you should use or whether your account at that institution is enabled for OFX/QFX support, please contact the financial institution. Our Member Support agents cannot help you with this information as it is specific to your account at that institution.
  7. Click the “Next” button.
  8. If the credentials you entered are correct, the Online Branch will connect to the third-party financial institution and load the transaction information for that account. The account will appear in the Account Summary screen.
