Kerry Wahlen, President/Chief Executive Officer

Kerry Wahlen began his career at Goldenwest Credit Union in 1986, working in multiple senior management and administrative positions throughout the organization. His tenure as the Credit Union's President and Chief Executive Officer commenced on January 1, 2012. Kerry holds a degree in Business Administration from Weber State University and an MBA from Utah State University. The Ogden-native lends his expertise and experience in the community by serving as a member of several local and state Boards, including: Utah State University Foundation; Utah-Idaho Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Ogden/Weber Chamber Governance; Weber School Foundation; and, Utah Certified Development Corporation.

Darren Godfrey, Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer

Darren Godfrey is a Certified Public Accountant who has held the position of Goldenwest Credit Union's Chief Financial Officer since 1991. He earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Professional Accountancy degree from Weber State University. Darren's responsibilities include providing oversight and direction for all aspects of the Credit Union's expense categories. He is the administrator responsible for the Accounting, Commercial Lending, Human Resources, Facilities, Operations, Payment Services, Training, and Information Technology Departments.

Mark Turner, Executive Vice President/Chief Revenue Officer

Mark Turner has worked in the insurance and financial services industries since 1982. He currently serves as Goldenwest Credit Union's Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer as well as the President of Goldenwest Insurance Services. As a recognized expert and leader in the industry during his tenure with Farmer's Insurance, Mark earned the President's Council Award for 12 consecutive years. At Goldenwest, Mark's responsibilities include providing oversight for business development and numerous profit centers at the Credit Union. He is the administrator responsible for Insurance, Investments, Medicare, Indirect Lending, and Marketing. Mark volunteers with the Utah-Idaho Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

David Butterfield, Executive Vice President/Chief Operations Officer

David Butterfield has lent his expertise to several Credit Union executive and management roles since 2004. He earned an undergraduate degree from Utah State University and an MBA from BYU's Marriott School of Management. David's current responsibilities as Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer include oversight for Consumer Lending, Mortgage Lending, Branch Operations, and Retail Sales. Additionally, he serves as Division President for the USU Credit Union. His community service has included: State Representative in the Utah House; Trustee for Utah State University; Chairman and Commissioner on the Logan City Planning Commission; and Chairman of the Cache County GOP. David is the Past President for the USU Alumni Association and Chairman for the Fullmer Legacy Foundation.

Mike DeGroot, Senior Vice President

Mike DeGroot embarked on his Information Technology career in 1996, and has led the Goldenwest IT team since 2007. As Senior Vice President, Mike is responsible for implementing the technological vision in support of Goldenwest's strategic growth and digital initiatives. Under Mike's direction, the IT Department organizes, plans, implements and secures all electronic and digital functions. His responsibilities include: Infrastructure; Primary, Secondary and Disaster Recovery Data Centers; Application, Web and Program Development; Data Analytics; Systems and Core Host Administration; and, Digital Security. While playing football as a student-athlete at Weber State University, Mike earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.

Tonya Froerer, Senior Vice President

Tonya Froerer joined the Goldenwest team in the year 2000. From the start, Tonya excelled in every role she has held throughout the organization. She worked as branch manager at two different offices, leading the Credit Union in achieving production and service goals. In 2018, Tonya was named Vice President of Mortgages Services for the Credit Union, and in 2020 she was promoted to Senior Vice President. In current her role, Tonya is responsible for heading the 40-person Mortgage Services team in providing the ultimate home financing experience for new and repeat home buyers across Utah. Under Tonya's leadership, the Goldenwest Mortgage Department has experienced unprecedented growth with record-breaking production each year.

Carol Nyman, Senior Vice President

Carol Nyman began her career on the frontlines of USU Credit Union in 1994. In the ensuing years, Carol advanced through various roles in New Accounts, Consumer Lending, IT Systems Administration, and Operations. Since 2013, when USU Credit Union merged with Goldenwest, Carol has been a key leader in providing management and direction for operations across the organization. As Senior Vice President, Carol is responsible for strategic planning and administration as it relates to Visa card growth, online and mobile payments, mobile app development, and operations. She oversees the Contact Center, Operations, Records, Payment Services, and Fraud Departments. Carol holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Systems from Utah State University.

Ashley Shreeve, Senior Vice President

Ashley Shreeve serves as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Goldenwest. She is responsible for leading the organization's human resources strategies and functions, including: employee benefits and compensation; talent acquisition and retention; employee relations; employment law compliance; and, employee development and training. Ashley began her career in the financial industry in 1998, and joined the Goldenwest team in 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, is certified as a HRCI Senior Human Resource Professional (SPHR), and holds the designation of Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). Ashley is a member of the National SHRM association and the Northern Utah Human Resource Association (NUHRA).

Laurie Stuart, Senior Vice President

Laurie Stuart commenced her career at Goldenwest Credit Union in 1987 as a teller. Her vast experience in almost every position in branch retail and back-office operations led to Laurie's current role where she works as the Senior Vice President responsible for Consumer Lending and Branching. Laurie's responsibilities include research, development, and implementation of all consumer loan products and consumer lending systems. Additional duties include providing oversight for branch operations, consumer lending, and underwriting. Laurie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a post-graduate MBA from the University of Phoenix, and is a graduate of the CUNA Management School.

Diana Windley, Senior Vice President

Diana Windley started in the marketing sector of the banking industry in 1998, and joined the Goldenwest Credit Union team in 2004. In her current position as Senior Vice President, she is responsible for strategic planning and implementation of marketing, communications, public relations, and community outreach campaigns for the organization's multiple brands. Diana enjoys active community involvement, and volunteers as a member of Intermountain Healthcare's McKay-Dee and Layton Hospitals Governing Board, Utah State Board of Education’s Trust Lands Advisory Committee, Weber Human Services Foundation Board, and Davis Education Foundation Board. In 2017, she was selected as one of “30 Women to Watch” by Utah Business magazine. Diana earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Brigham Young University.
