Goldenwest Credit Union Signs Dillon Jones to Licensing Deal

OGDEN, UT: July 18, 2023 – Goldenwest Credit Union has teamed up with Weber State University’s men’s basketball forward, Dillon Jones, in a licensing deal to promote Goldenwest Credit Union to Weber State students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

“Dillon exemplifies hard work and determination, two of the qualities we admire most at the Credit Union,” remarked Kerry Wahlen, Goldenwest President/CEO. “We respect his talent on the Wildcat basketball court, and his contributions to the Weber State community.”

Jones completed his third season in Weber State men’s basketball program in the 2022-23 academic year. After an invitation to participate in the NBA Draft Combine, Jones made the decision to withdraw and return to Weber State for the 2023-24 season. With the fitting nickname “Do It All DJ”, he is the only basketball player in Weber State history with at least 1,000 career points, 800 rebounds, 250 assists, and 100 steals.

“I joined Goldenwest Credit Union shortly after moving to Ogden, and they were great in helping me with my financial needs as a new student at Weber State,” stated Jones. “I’m excited to partner with an Ogden-based credit union that has a long history of supporting Weber State Athletics and students.”

Goldenwest’s NIL agreement with Dillon Jones is part of its strategic initiative to promote the Credit Union’s “Smart Money” financial well-being for teens and young adults.

“It is our desire to provide meaningful educational resources to high school and college students that will inspire them to build strong financial foundations,” added Wahlen. “As a Credit Union, we provide more than an easy way to manage your finances. We are committed to helping you reach your financial goals.”
