Goldenwest Opens Branch in Farmington

Centerville Branch

Farmington, UT: May 11, 2018 – Goldenwest Credit Union held a branch ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration today at 698 North Lagoon Drive in Farmington. This is the Credit Union’s seventh branch location in Davis County, and 39th branch office in the state of Utah.

“The Farmington branch provides stronger value and convenience to our members who live and work in Davis County,” said Kerry Wahlen, Goldenwest President/CEO. “Furthermore, we are excited to be part of and contribute towards a community that shares our values and beliefs as a Credit Union.”

In his remarks, Wahlen mentioned the early Utah pioneers who settled the Farmington area, including their involvement in co-operatives that were jointly owned and operated for the benefit of those using their services. He went on to explain that credit unions follow a similar model as not-for-profit financial cooperatives that provide low-cost products and services for its member-owners.

Goldenwest Board Chairman Bill Hart joined Wahlen, several other Board members, Credit Union officers, managers and employees to officially open the branch. Farmington Mayor Jim Talbot and Davis Chamber of Commerce President Angie Osguthorpe also participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony as they welcomed Goldenwest to business community.

Lynsie Malmberg has been selected to manage all branch activity, originate mortgages, and provide insurance services from the new office. Malmberg brings 12 years of Goldenwest experience to the position, and most recently served members in her role as assistant manager at the Clearfield office.

Malmberg explained the new Farmington branch offers a hybrid service model where members can receive personal one-on-one attention as well as experience new banking technology with two Personal Teller machines. The Credit Union’s staff is on-site to greet everyone who enters the branch and assist them with their transactions on the Personal Teller machines. Traditional teller stations are also available at the office.

The Farmington office features drive-thru teller lanes, a drive-thru Co-op Network ATM, and offers a full range of services including vehicle loans, mortgages, lines of credit, insurance, free checking, and instant-issue Visa cards.

During his presentation to the group of about 60 attendees, Wahlen announced Goldenwest Credit Union plans to begin construction on its eighth Davis County branch in the coming weeks. The new office will be located in North Salt Lake on Redwood Road near Lee’s Marketplace.
