USU Credit Union Opens Satellite Branch for Schreiber Foods Employees in Logan

Schreiber Foods Satellite branch

LOGAN, UT: April 10, 2023 – USU Credit Union has opened a satellite branch at the Schreiber Foods plant located at 885 North 600 West in Logan.

“Our new location on site at the Schreiber facility will enhance the service we offer to Schreiber employees,” stated David Butterfield, Division President of USU Credit Union. “Opening and operating this branch is consistent with our mission of serving the broader USU community with financial services that empower and improve their lives.”

At their origins, credit unions were formed by employees to serve specific employer groups. USU Credit Union was founded in the halls of Utah State University in 1957 by economic professors Vernon Israelson and Evan Murray. They formed the Credit Union to provide banking services to USU employees and their families. Today, USU Credit Union has expanded their field of membership to include all USU faculty, staff, and students as well as other employer groups in the Cache Valley area such as Schreiber Foods.

While all products and services are available at the Schreiber Foods satellite branch, the most common transactions conducted on site are new account openings and check deposits. For the convenience of Schreiber Foods employees, a USU Credit Union ATM is available 24/7 in the plant’s cafeteria. Due to security and safety policies at the facility, branch access is restricted to Schreiber Foods employees only. Schreiber Foods staff can utilize the satellite branch Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. In addition to the Schreiber Foods satellite branch, members can access USU Credit Union branches six locations in Cache Valley. USU Credit Union operates as a division of Goldenwest.
