Holiday Fraud Prevention Tips

Security Notice - November 25, 2016

USU Credit Union offers several convenient features to help keep your Visa card safe during the holiday shopping season.

First, use the Card Controls feature in the USUCU Mobile app. Card Controls allow you to temporarily disable your card when not in use, and immediately re-enable when you are ready to use your card.

When the time comes to travel over the river and through the woods this Holiday season, Card Controls allows you to create a travel notification at any time. Creating a notification two business days before travel allows the Credit Union to more effectively prevent fraudulent transactions while you travel, and prevent your transactions from being declined while you use the card out of the area.

Second, begin using a mobile wallet. Many merchants now accept mobile wallets, and USUCU Visa cards support Android Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Visa Checkout, and many retailer specific apps at stores like Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Chick-fil-A, and Starbucks.
